7 Reasons Why You Should Groom Your Cat
During their daily adventures, cats can end up with all manner of dirt and grit clinging to their coat. Despite the fact that they try their best to keep themselves clean by performing their own grooming routines, it’s not always enough.
It’s important to help keep them in a hygienic state by giving them a good groom.
Here are 7 reasons why you should regularly groom your cat. Here is why cat grooming is more important than you may think.
1. CAT GROOMING – NAIL TRIMMING
Dull claws cause less damage to furniture (and you!) than sharp ones, and overly long nails are simply uncomfortable for a cat to walk around on. While outdoor cats tend to naturally wear down their nails, many cats kept as indoor cats, who usually do not have as much opportunity to properly shed them down. If your cat is clacking about on much too long claws, have them trimmed to help them play comfortably.
2. VITALITY
An important but usually missed benefit of frequent grooming is that it can stimulate your cat’s circulation and improve their muscle tone.
3. NO NEED TO TAKE THEM TO A SALON
Most cats are not a big fan of traveling. After all, they are territorial animals by nature! Grooming your cat at home rather than going to a pet salon will significantly reduce your cat’s stress level, making the whole process easier.
4. HEALTH CHECK
While grooming you have the opportunity to examine your cat’s eyes, ears, teeth, and nails. During this check, you can identify signs or symptoms that may indicate disease or injury. It is also the perfect time to check for parasites, such as fleas and ticks.
5. AVOID EAR INFECTION
Cats need their ears cleaned regularly, especially those with long coats!
6. HAIR DE-MATTED
A happy cat will have a healthy and clean coat, free of any tangles or knots. To help prevent matting, one solution is to use the Anigenix Pro Detangling Pearl Mist after each bath. Also, in conjunction with the Pearl Mist, you can do a lion-style haircut for your cat, shorter in summer and slightly longer in winter. Fun and functional!
7. IMPROVES SOCIALIZATION
Frequent in-home grooming helps to train your cat to start enjoying sessions and can encourage socialization, especially if they are an indoor cat that doesn’t see too many new people.
